Three meetings before the birth:
Our 1st meeting is free. Then if you choose to hire me we will plan on meeting two-three more time so I can help you. During the meetings I will help you put together your birth plan, show you some labor positions for your birth. Talk about what to expect at the hospital/birth center, newborn care and breastfeeding help as well.
We will talk about what it will look like for your husband/ birth partner to be the supportive role with a doula attending. I will show them key spots on the back for message and different ways they can support you through labor.
Being by your side in support from the moment you call to past delivery.
Once you call it is ALL about you! I will be at your place or the hospital as soon as possible. (I do have a back up doula just in case of a rare emergency) I will stay with you through out the entire labor and for a couple hours after just to make sure your baby breastfeeds. I can help you with breastfeeding just based off of experience but you can go to www.llli.org for more information on breastfeeding.
Next day visit:
I will come over the next day just to see how you are feeling and how your new baby is doing. Also to see if you need anything, like help with breastfeeding, or just talk about the birth. This would be a good time to give you your gift basket, and notes on the birth.
Pregnancy Journal:
This is such an amazing time for you. I would love to give you a book to keep records of what is going on in your pregnancy, what you're feeling, what you're scared of. what you're learning, what God is showing you with your pregnancy, anything you want to write about. During pregnancy you are going through so many changes it will be neat to look back after your pregnancy and read it to your baby.
My "bag of tricks" labor pain relief options:
The most important thing I will bring to the birth is my undivided attention, emotional, physical and informational support and total belief in your ability to give birth.
In addition I will bring a "bag of tricks" to the birth too. My bag is no bigger than a gym bag. In side the bag are different tools and things to help you feel better for labor and pain. And we will discuss my bad in a visit before birth.
